Deportivo chavos banda

This sports and community center was built by a group of gangs from Iztapalapa, Mexico City, as a strategy to stop a wave of violence. For twenty-five years, they have managed this space together and used it as a site to negotiate among themselves and with state authorities. Colectivo Nerivela has initiated a number of projects with Chavos Banda revolving around the documentation and broadcasting of their history and of that of their center.
