Born in Bombay (now Mumbai), Atul Dodiya from the very start has been extremely interested in cinema, popular culture, political history and literature. These are the themes that are also prevalent in his art. His artistic oeuvre includes sculptural- installation, drawing, painting and mixed media artifacts.
In ‘Desert Halt’ Dodiya with cool precision and minimalistic use of lines delineates the human crisis of the modern day world. His works are often charged with quotes from the past.
