Propaganda was an important part of the Civil War and the government controlled the press. The Cork Examiner’s presses were destroyed so they could not be utilised to report on the defeat of the Republicans in Cork. WD Hogan’s photographs were printed in the Cork Examiner amongst other newspapers.
