“Stones” takes part of a series of watercolor studies developed during 2020 in the Argentine Atlantic coast, where I currently live. The work starts with the selection and collection of stones on the seashore. Later, it continues with the slow and meticulous task of observing and modelling the studied form through the watercolor technique. Stones are privileged and mysterious objects. They keep the secret of forming life and are the clearest witnesses of the power of life to create shapes. With holes, eroded and modelled by the action of water and wind, a hole opens in its impenetrable appearance. What is hidden in the stones emerges. So blunt and confident in the outside, it becomes soft and pink inside. It is soft, vigorous, placid, and harmless, trap and refuge. A latent inorganic pulse. Pushing. What is alive and dead. Buried in the sea.
