In his Spring/Summer 2014 collection, 'Home Sweet Home', Walter Van Beirendonck simultaneously showed a range of sleek tailoring and paid tribute to the house (and its interior) that he shares with his partner Dirk Van Saene in a village outside Antwerp. This suit, with dinner jacket and Bermuda shorts, shows the ways in which he transformed decorative elements from his home interior into fashion design: he combines the wooden floor, couch print, carpet patterns and walls - including an in situ art hanging - into the fabric pattern. The snakeskin shoes are decorated with stylized erect phallic symbols. Milliner Stephen Jones created the raffia caps for 'Home Sweet Home'.
