"History of Port MacDonnell in Pictures" (R.L. Hill) shows a picture of the house with the following caption below it:
"Dingley Dell (1891) - The home of Adam Lindsay Gordon and his wife from 1864 to 1865, is situated just off the Bay Road and about 1 mile from Port MacDonnell. After World War I the house was restored and is now visited by thousands of tourists. Two rooms are open to the public to see Gordon's mementos."
Adam Lindsay Gordon was an Australian poet, jockey and politician who was born in Portugal and migrated to England, and later Australia.
