Carneiro was the only painter of the Portuguese symbolism exploring the spirituality and collecting feelings, garnering the title of “Portraitist of Souls”. In this charcoal drawing we witness one of the many mythical scenes worked by António Carneiro, attributed to Dionysus and Hestia episode, at the time Hestia ceded her place to Dionysus at the Gods’ Table.
