The large and fairly deep circular emblazoned dish, with a broad rim, has a blue border and a fine manganese band around four “spiders” (the corrupted Portuguese drawing of the Chinese artemisia leaf), outlined in manganese and filled in with blue, alternating with four bulbous flowers. The beginning of the wall is marked off with blue borders and the bottom of the dish has a central reserve defined by a concentric band around the coat of arms of the Silva family – a pointed shield, outlined in manganese, with a blue lion in the middle, in slight relief. This shield is also crowned on the outside by an open helmet and flanked by a composition of arabesques.
