The prominent artifacts in Diwan-e-Khas include Stone Age cooking wares, imported carpets, mystic carvings and water sets brought from China. Further, rugs which bring attraction to the environment were the main production of Hunza. However, carpets were not manufactured until late 1990’s. There was a trend among the noble families of Hunza of either bringing carpets from China or purchasing them from the trade caravans that moved along the Silk Route. The carpet in view was made in Khutan, China some 300 years back.
