One day Rose Marie got hurt in her arm when walking her big dog and it pulled the leash. Thinking that the dog might feel pain too, she started to figure out a leash that would smooth the jolt.

The solution was an expanding leash which is gentle to both dog and handler. The textile leash is loose braided and thereby protecting the arm and shoulder of the dog handler as well as the dog's neck.

Rose Marie patented the leash and it is trademark protected in Sweden and seven further European countries. She started the company MR-koppel to commercialize the idea. By 2007, the company had a variety of related products for sale.
