"This 16th-century door knocker from the Casa de l’Ardiaca in Barcelona is an emblematic model of the history of European wrought iron. It is the most important of Gothic art and a symbolic piece from Santiago Rusiñol’s collection. Its decorative elements greatly influenced the development of neo-Gothic and Catalan Modernisme.
The ring door knocker is crowned by a dragon’s head, which symbolises the guardian of hidden treasure. Before anyone can enter inside they must face and defeat the dragon that is sternly protecting and guarding the home."
