Vessel is depicted, probably in Le Havre, on a green-gray Atlantic, riding low in the water under foresail and one other from the main mast. She flies the US flag and a red-edged pennant with the words "City of Bath". Two men in yellow oilskins are seated in her in front of the tiller, one with arm outstretched pointing to a three masted sailing ship visible on the horizon. Label on back reads: Eugene Grandin, artiste, Peintre Marine, rue Neuve des Pincettes, 14. Le Havre (au ler.)
