Drawing of the actor Diego Poça performed live during a cultural event at Dionísio Pinheiro and Alice Cardoso Pinheiro Foundation. Antonino Neves synthesizes the forms of the human body in fast lines of coal, dry pastel and pigments.

Antonino Neves, born in Coimbra on 18th November 1962, has a degree in painting by ARCA/ETAC, post-graduate in art history by the Lusíada University of Lisbon, and has developed an autonomous work around oil, pastel d'oil and pigments mixed with oil and turpentine, based on the study of the human figure in different anatomical and poetic expressions. He has developed several works for art biennials, individual and collective exhibitions in Portugal and travelling exhibitions abroad, namely in Italy. He has collaborated with several works in art and design textbooks, is represented in the Santos Rocha da Figueira da Foz Museum and in many private collections. He was an assistant teacher of Drawing for ten years at ARCA/ETAC. He participated in the artistic event Cenografias.sitespecificevent, held in the Arts Quarter of the Castles Theatre Cooperative, Montemor-o-Velho; "Rota das Artes" - travelling exhibition through various counties in the country; participated with works in the installation "Ant's Hill, a HumanRenewal" (Formigueiro) at Casa Museu Bissaya Barreto in Coimbra; participated in the exhibition "D. Catarina de Bragança - contemporary images"; coordinated the assembly of the exhibition at Palácio da Bemposta - Lisbon. He is currently a teacher at Avelar Brotero Secondary School in Coimbra, where he teaches Drawing A and is completing his PhD thesis at the Faculdad de Historia del Arte/Bellas Artes at the University of Salamanca.
In these works, Antonino takes us through a hyper-realistic current of contemporary art, where the body obeys a concrete and complete mechanism: movement and nature reflect the driving force of life. An omnipresent classicism, transmitting the passion for the trace and the color that persisting does not overshadow the composition.
