The artist illustrates his ideal dream world, an idyllic island populated by, besides himself, an endless number of seductive, voluptuous woman; a fantasy land in which everything he needs is literally growing on trees, which bear jars of wine as fruit. While this unabashed escapism is obviously little more than fantastic wish fulfilment impossible for real life to satisfy, it is equally doubtless that it is a sign of his ardent struggle for existence, to attain the seemingly unattainable.
