Drunken Concubine is also a famous Peking Opera adapted from the story of Yang Yuhuan (719-756 AD), the favorite concubine of Emperor Xuanzong (685-762 AD) of the Tang dynasty (618-907 AD).
The intoxicated Yang Yuanhuan, biting a wine cup and two arms in broad sleeves stretching backwards, is in a posture of staggering forward on the left side of this piece, while the eunuch Gao Lishi kneeling on the right side is holding the lap of his robe with both hands to support his master in case she falls down. The two figurines in vivid postures were also decorated with refined drawing in bright colors, thanks to which the characters, the concubine in particular, look beautiful and sumptuous.
