"God made the country, and man made the town," so goes a saying by British poet William Cowper. On the borders between the country and the city cultural contrasts are often present. Hendra took a durian fruit as the symbol of the country and the city meeting in the middle. In this painting the aroma and enjoyment of eating a durian was instrumental in unifying both. (Agus T.
