The western portion of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, connecting Yerba Buena Island to the City of San Francisco, consists of two suspension bridges connected to a central anchorage. These photographs show the towers from which the bridge decks would be suspended, as well as the center anchorage (upper right photograph -- to get an idea of scale, note the ferry in the lower left corner of this photograph).
