Colourful Advertisement poster of 'Eastern Star Atlas Cycle Industries'. In 1938, a firm called Messrs Janki Das & Co. began the import of bicycles into India under the trade mark “Eastern Star”. This was the parent company of the contemporary ‘Atlas Cycles’ (Haryana Ltd.) the factory even today is located near Sonepat, near Delhi, ‘some of the other trade names utilised by the company were ‘Atlas’, ‘Army & Zebra’.
