Folk tradition holds that this is captured horse of the Turkish pasha during the battle. The Edek (tur. replacement horse) is a horse without a rider which is led in the procession by two squires in front of the Marshal and his adjutant. It is a replacement for the Marshal’s horse, with extremely richly decorated gear.
