1971 was undoubtedly a unique year in Paco de Lucía's recording career. Far from trying to break new ground on his own, Paco preferred to record an album full of flamenco inspiration and all its ingredients, singing, guitar playing and dancing. The vocals are by Paco's brother, Pepe de Lucía. The guitar is played by Paco, with his other brother, Ramón de Algeciras, on the second guitar, and Raúl's footwork takes advantage of the virtuosity of the dance. A good way of adding such a fundamental element as dance to his work. The dancer Raúl, born in Madrid in 1959, performed in various tablaos in Madrid until he formed his own group, with which he performed several times in Spain and America. In the early eighties he became part of the flamenco group at the Venta del Gato tablao. He stood out for his mastery of footwork with a surprising technique and good taste.
On this album you will find styles that are part of the repertoire of flamenco dancers, such as alegrías, zapateado or farruca, some of which he has already recorded, as in the case of Guajiras de Lucía and Tempul de la Fantasía flamenca (1969), and the taconeo gitano, which he recorded in the first of the three albums he recorded with Ricardo Modrego in 1965".
