The parish church of El Salvador is a splendid architectural work of the period between the Romanesque and the Gothic. It was built around the seventh decade in the 13th century. On the outside, the Romanesque façade of Santiago stands out with several archivolts, one of them brimming with pointy diamond shaped stones and others with iconographic programs of great expressive force. Camilo Jose Cela paid special attention to the pulpit, made of jasper or alabaster.
