Right across Kathiawar and Kutch, Gujarat, the women wear cotton gathered skirts with a drawstring waist, a short blouse and an odhni (head covering). This textile assembladge is usually elaborately embroidered by the women reflecting their traditions and heritage. This skirt border also known as ghaghrapat is richly embroidered with geometric motifs with small mirrors accentuating the designs. The round medallions in the centre form a single repeat row and are flanked on either side by a row of grid-like squares in a pyramid shape.
