The Zhuang embroidery attaches importance to expressing the relations between the main and the subordinate on the basis of meticulous, fine needlework. With “rolling stitches” (Pan Xiu) as the main technique, large area of “complicated multi-layer stitches” (Fan Xiu) as the distinctive characteristic and densely-arranged stitches as the tenor, pieces of Zhuang embroidery usually look grand and scintillating. Moreover, items made with Zhuang embroidery are wearable and resistant to fraying thanks to the embroiders’ meticulous, time-consuming work.
Due to the wide and active application of the Zhuang embroidery in the daily life of the folk, the Zhuang women are still embellishing themselves with embroidery from head to toe, looking sumptuous and charming.
