This post card, mailed on June 24, 1910, depicts the original Cyclorama building on Cherokee Avenue in Grant Park, Atlanta. The Cyclorama building housed the circa 1886 painting of the July 1864 Battle of Atlanta. The cyclorama was donated to the City of Atlanta in 1893 by George Gress, a lumber magnate. The painting, at more than 42 feet tall and 358 feet in circumference, was painted by German artists in Milwaukee, circa1885-1886.
