I remember the first photograph I took of a plant, fourteen years ago. It was tiny, its yellow stood out from the dry green grass surrounding it. At the time I was in search of large tracts of land to shoot, but something struck me in that detail so tiny that stood out of the grass. I never painted because of its striking colour.
Years later I discovered Doñana. It was an ecstasy. Seas of sand and brush in between. Neutral colours ideal for my painting. Finally I went back to the area where I have the most memories from my childhood, the Ventorrillo and the Bardena where I appreciated and identified with the needle grass and the bushes in the middle of nowhere.
