An uigwe recording the ritual of bestowing posthumous title to Yeongjo’s birthmother Lady Choi (1670-1718) in 1753. It also writes the process of making her graveyard. In 1724 when Yeongjo ascended the throne, he set up a shrine called ‘Sukbinmyo’ for his mother in the north of Gyeongbokgung palace, and in 1753, changed the name into ‘Yuksanggung’ and raised it to the status of ‘Soryeongwon’. This uigwe documents the series of such process in detail.
