A man and a woman walk together on a road by a fjord. The sun is setting on a fishing boat in the fjord. Islands and steep mountains in the background. Savio was not recognized as a painter in his own time, only after his death in 1938, at the age of 36 years. He was one of the first Sami artists to be widely recognized and the first Sami artist to get his own exhibition at the national gallery of Norway. He also has a museum dedicated to him in Kirkenes, and a price; "Savioprisen" that is given by Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum every second year to an artist with Sami background.
