The fashionable high-waisted dress made around 1905 shown here has a cream colored undergarment covered by a softly-draping purple georgette, accentuating the shape of the feminine body. Embroidery on the belt reads that it was made at the Trieste shop of the Viennese Maison Sitich clothing salon. The two front sides fold over one anther asymmetrically, while the skirt section has a train in the back. It is decorated with machine-made lace and frills, and is embroidered with clear glass beads.
