The Finnish pavilion hosted a conversation "The Opportunity Within the European Crisis“ about the challenges and opportunities brought about by the surge in asylum-seekers coming to Europe. The objective was to delve into the current issues, and explore how the question around housing could be positively leveraged to create better solutions.The conversation brought together three different perspectives, discussing with Deputy Mayor of Real Estate and City Planning of the City of Helsinki Anni Sinnemäki, design strategist and urbanist Dan Hill and filmmaker Hamy Ramezan, who also brought a personal perspective as he was a child refugee from Iran. The objective was to discuss the European refugee crisis and to explore its implications and opportunities on questions of cities and housing. Curator Marco Steinberg moderated the session.
