Excavation site of the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng in May 1978. Led by Tan Weisi, deputy curator of Hubei Provincial Museum and the famous archaeologist, many prestigious archaeologists had come and joined the excavation team. This mysterious tomb was built on the hill of red sandstone. After 10-metre thick soil and charcoal were cleared, the structure of the tomb came into sight. It is an outer coffin cover made from huge square wooden boards, 47 pieces in total.
