Two exedra are located across from each other on a north-south axis in the garden. An exedrum is a semi-circular bench designed to promote conversation and dialogue. This image shows the bench on the north side of the garden and features the inscription "Education."
The Renaissance Garden’s landscape architect Dennis Buettner designed the bench supports in stylized fern fronds to represent a W for Wisconsin. The original design was created for the gardens at the Wisconsin Governor’s residence in Madison.
