In 1835, Friederike von Gentzkow, widow of a landowner, took a trip to a spa, traveling from Potsdam to Wiesbaden and back again. In total she covered around 784 miles with the Extrapost, in a private carriage. Only the horses and postilion were provided by the post office for a fee. She passed 76 post offices. The travel costs amounted to about 200 Reichstaler, far more than a journeyman's annual income. All receipts for the trip were collected.
