Fagus Factory - rear view

Carl Benscheidt and his architects agreed that the factory buildings' appearance was their best possible point of publicity. Benscheidt shrewdly positioned the whole site towards the railway tracks so that it could be seen by countless passengers. The architecture was to be designed so that it would leave a lasting impression on the passengers during those few seconds as the train went by. The solution was to use clean shapes, with minimal materials and colors.
