Famous Negro Band Greets U.S. Soldiers on Leave From Trenches. The famous band of the 15th Colored Infantry, N.Y.N.G. on their way to the station at Aix les Bains to greet a trainload of our fighting men on leave. The band was well known in New York before the outbreak of war as "Europe's Band. The negro musicians enlisted in the body and their leader was commissioned a Lietenant in 1918 (NOTE: This is the caption on the photo but the information is not totally accurate)
