Ludwig Persius (1803-1845) gestaltete im Auftrage König Friedrich Wihlems IV. von Preußen (1795–1861) die 1842–1844 errichtete Fasanerie in Form einer italienischen Turmvilla. Sie bildete den westlichen Abschluss des Parks Charlottenhof und war umgeben von einem Fasanengarten.
