Figs are of the syconium type. A fig is not really a fruit, but collection of hundreds of flowers inside that shell. This is why it is known as a false fruit. Figs are rich in carbohydrates and some minerals like calcium and phosphorous. They contain good amounts of vitamins A, B and C. Figs can be eaten fresh or dried. Figs are also rich in sugars and fibers that facilitate digestion.
