Film poster for the Hindi/Urdu film 'Mughal-E-Azam' (The Great Mughal), released in the year 1960.
The poster, produced for the colorised version of the film released in 2004, shows the iconic character Anarkali, played by the ever-so-graceful Madhubala. The bust length image shows Anarkali lifting off her veil to reveal her beautiful, bejewelled face, a depiction from the song 'Mohe Panghat Pe', sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The image is contained in an ornamental border. Overlapping with the image on the lower half, first comes the film title in Devanagari.
Below the film title is the banner's name in Devanagari as 'Sterling Investment Corporation Prastuti' (Sterling Investment Corporation Presents), next line; 'K. Asif Krit' (Created by K. Asif), next line; 'Mughal-E-Azam' (Devanagari), next line; 'Color' (extreme right below the film title in Devanagari), next line; 'Sangeet: Naushad' (Music: Naushad), 'Mughal-E-Azam' in Urdu. On the bottom border of the poster, from the left, first comes 'NOW IN COLOUR'. This is followed by 'RE-RECORDED IN', next line; 'Dolby Digital'. Next come three logos of 'HMV', 'Dolby Digital' and 'dts'. In the end is a website address as 'www.mughaleazam.com'.
