Finely carved wooden roof angel

1401-1500

Churches Conservation Trust

Churches Conservation Trust
London, United Kingdom

This solemn faced angel with finely carved curled hair looks down from the ceiling to the space where the congregation would have once sat. The angel roof figures of St Nicholas, King's Lynn are visible from the ground, but the level of detail and individual nature of each of the angels is difficult to see from a distance.
