Egg-shaped body standing on a flat, round base. Body decorated with four oval medallions with finely engraved landscapes. It can be closed with a screw top, decorated with a cast handle with acanthus leaves.
Inside the top illustration of a miner, with the monogram “M.S.”.
In Hungarian Kingdom, from the first half of the 17th century we find many mentions of silver flasks at lords’ homes. In the second half of the century, they became common in Transylvania as well. They were mostly used to store drinks; they could be used in both secular and ecclesiastical (mostly Calvinist) environments.
