London, United Kingdom

The Suffragette leader Flora Drummond talking to a Policeman. In the background can be seen the suffragette horse and cart decked in purple white & green banners. As a senior figure in the Women's Social and Political Union, Flora played a key role in organising demonstrations and processions. Flora is often depicted in press images in conversation with policemen suggesting one of her responsibilities was to liaise directly with the Metropolitan police to ensure organised Suffragette events ran smoothly.
