Flower Border, The Salutation, Sandwich, Kent

A long border at The Salutation. Sandwich in Kent. From a set of annotated photographs sent by Frank Farrer to his aunt Sophia Emma Wickham (Mrs William Wickham). Farrer commissioned Sir Edwin Lutyens to design the house and it was built 1911-12. It was probably Lutyens who laid out the garden to complement the house on the site of the old Salutation public house.
