Fluorite xx [CaF2]

UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein

UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein
Essen, Germany

Fluorite is one of the absolute favorites among collectors. Its colorful splendor spans the spectrum of the rainbow. The beautiful, mostly cube-shaped crystals are found on rock crevices. Fluorites have been used for centuries, for example to make vessels or faceted gemstones. Industrially, the mineral is used as a flux in metallurgical processes among other things.
