A costume worn in north-western part of Małopolska. Elements of the costume:
an orange (1) headscarf with a motif of large, colourful flowers, made of printed fabric a white linen (2) blouse with a high-fitting collar, long sleeves and long cuffs decorated with a colourful cross stitch and pleats. Similar embroidery can be seen on the shoulders and collar. The outfit is completed with a pleated woollen (3) apron skirt with light brown cotton tapes around the bottom edge, and a shorter pleated woollen (4) apron - both made of traditional striped fabric. Orange is the dominant colour, which indicates that the costume was made in the interwar period.
The type of headgear worn provided information about the marital status of a woman: unmarried women wore headscarves, while the married ones covered their heads with bonnets. The colours of the costumes and the type of embroidery have changed over the last 150 years. On festive days, high-heel lace up boots were worn with the outfit, otherwise wooden clogs were used. The final ingredient to complete the costume was jewellery: coral or amber beads, pearls, or hollow glass beads.
