Fossil of Click Beetle

There are more than 8,000 species known in the family Elateridae all over the world, among which more than 600 species are found in China. The clicking movement of the adults is a form of escape and an instinct to avoid danger and overcome obstacles. It is also used to transmit information and attract the opposite sex.
