The operation of a railway system depends on several support activities, often out of sight, but which are essential for trains to run with the best conditions and in complete safety. One of these activities is the inspection and maintenance of infrastructure, which has its own vehicles for specific purposes. This is the case of quadricycles, used in the company since 1931, with the aim of modernising conditions of the line's maintenance and inspection work. This pedal-powered quadricycle was operated by a single person and used by the head of each section of railway, responsible for maintaining a certain section of line, for inspection trips. They were equipped with various instruments, such as a gauge ruler or tool box.
