Frans Balthazar Solvyns better remembered as Solvyns was a Flemish printmaker, marine painter and ethnographer from the late 18th century. His work "Les Hindoûs" comprises 4 volumes out of which, volume II involves the etchings of local musical instruments from Calcutta.
