Friction drum with a cord is one of a symbols of Kaszuby musical identity. It is a music tool used to make a ritual noise. Nowadays it is used as a drum instrument in folk bands. Often it is made of a wooden stave barrel with two bottoms. In the one bottom there is a hole with a bunch of horse hair attached. Two people play on this instrument: one is holding the instrument, another one is rubbing the hair with wet hands what produces a low sound.
