Future woman is a work by the American painter Peter Saul (San Francisco, United States, 1934), one of the fathers of the pop art movement. With his trademark mix of bold colours, acid humour and a blatant lack of political correctness, Saul is the eternal outsider, the social satirist always searching for a fresh and compelling new image. Influenced by the Abstract Expressionists but averse to existential philosophy, Saul embraced their brushstroke but applied an unpretentious approach. The artist addresses themes such as consumerism, war and hate through provocative images in which good and evil are fictitious absolutes.
