The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is a long-running American entertainment and merchandising franchise begun by Saban Entertainment and controlled, for a while, by Disney. The film and television serials take most of their footage from the Japanese series "Super Sentai." Investor Haim Sabin purchased the franchise back from Disney around 1999. The series has been criticised for violent content aimed at children, but has maintained a successful run and profits from both the entertainment and product spin-offs.
