Weston Park
Weston-under-Lizard, United Kingdom

Garden House is in fact a-timber framed house, which dates from at least the seventeenth century. A building is shown upon its site in the c.1765 Capability Brown plan of Weston Park, although the plan advocates its removal. The building traditionally provided a home to Weston Park's Head Gardener and was located conveniently close to the walled gardens and to the Conservatory. The end of the house to the right of this image in fact contained the Conservatory's boiler. The young lady in the photograph is Betty Gee, mother of Weston Park's current Head Gardener, Martin Gee.
